So the whole trip I didn't scar myself or break a bike. A personal best I think. Here's a bunch more pictures if you're interested.
I was on my 3rd early morning/late night bike ride recently not long ago. It was fairly uneventful. I went out at sunrise, I know because I passed a crowing rooster. Oh yeah, and I saw the sun rising. I passed a guy dressed all in black walking down the street. He had a stocking cap and everything. He wasn't carrying any electronics or jewelry, so I'll assume he was off of work last night or something. I also found some pretty dangerous looking dirt bike jumps I could go off in the future if I wanted to. I doubt I will however, since I am a scaredy cat.
I think I'm going to go to sleep now. I only slept like 6 hours yesterday, which should balance out the 14 hours from the day before, but doesn't seem to be working out. I guess I'm in a situation in life when I can sleep whenever I'm tired and I should take full advantage of it.
I watched all the squidhat production video's on youtube. They're put up there by Dawn and Dimitri, who pretty much run the video making organization of Linfield College. I think the videos are pretty horrible, but for me they're entertaining cause I know everyone in them and such. They dun have all of them up though, at least not that I could find. None of the one's featuring me.
Just so you know, my previous post's title does not indicate a downturn in my poker winnings. I'm currently up about 150%, steady as she goes. Took down the last tournament I was in with a semi-bad beat. But it was real quick and painless for the guy, and serves him right for showing his bluffing me earlier. I dun mind being bluffed if u dun show me, showing me is just mean.
I include a video you've probably already seen, but it's funny so, just to be sure.
Yesterday at about 2:30 am I got bored and decided I didn't want to read my book or play poker or play Puzzle Quest, which is still awesome, btw. So I got my newly repaired bike from the garage and took it outside and determined that something, probably the brake, was rubbing on the front wheel thus made riding it very difficult. So I just stole my mother's bike.
I didn't have any particular plan on where I wanted to go, as everything is closed at 2:30 anyway. So I just rode around randomly for a while. I went into a graveyard I passed, which I tried to photograph but failed. It was kinda cool. Many of the graves were decorated with color changing lights, so that was somewhat eerie.
I was feeling pretty good with the ride so I decided to go to Aaron's even though it's sorta way out there and on top of a hill. As I was starting the climb of this hill I saw a small light coming towards me. I determined eventually that it must be someone with a flashlight. As it got closer I figured that someone was on a skateboard, just by sound. I moved well out of the way, cause skateboarders are unpredictable. The skateboarder started hooting, "Whoooo! I'm alive!" About a second after he said that he passed me. His invisible silent friend also passed me. His invisible silent friend was between the two of us, on a bike. He was very surprised to see me, as I was apparently invisible and silent as well. We weren't really that close to hitting, but I was not expecting that much activity at 3 AM on my bike in Finley.
I found Aaron's place soon after and all was dark, which was not surprising. His car was absent however, and that was surprising. I figured he must be out with his gf or something, and I went about completely the devious plan I had come up with during my ride. I wrote "Hi Aaron" in rocks on the path in front of his house. Well, you can't just ride 30 minutes to your friends house at 3 in the morning and do nothing.
So I was just running out of coasting speed from riding down the hill Aaron's house is on when I saw Aaron heading home. I did a U-turn and started the arduous trek back up the hill, hoping I'd not take so long to get to his house that he'd already be in bed. I was banking that my message would by me some time.
When I reached his house for the second time I could see a light on in the house and some movement,so I knew I was in good shape. I saw Aaron on the phone, w/ his gf obviously, wandering around. I tried to get his attention through the front window, and then a side window, and then a back window, and finally I just knocked on his back door and grinned at him like a maniac.
After a short visit I was kicked out so as not to disturb his easily disturbable father, and I presume so Aaron could sleep. From this point on the sun is rising and the rode is now at least mostly visible. The traffic level quickly began to rise. Early morning drivers don't do the swerve out of their lane thing for bikes for some reason. I mean, they can see there's no one coming for 10 blocks, but whatever.
I eventually made it to Jack-in-the-Box and went through the drive thru. They didn't notice me, and I didn't press it. I just left and went home. Got home at about 4:30. I dunno how far i went, but it was pretty mean on my quads. :p
Then today mother and Aaron and I went and saw Fantastic 4 2. There were reasons for seeing it, and I pretty much have to see any comic book movie, so whatever. I didn't hate it as much as the average person, because I have an ability to appreciate corniness in some contexts. Now, I didn't really appreciate this movie, but I didn't die watching it. Alba's blue eyes were freaking me out at the beginning. I kinda got desensitized eventually though. So anyway, you probably shouldn't see the movie, but you don't have to gripe on and on for hours about it... Aaron.
Since the movie I've spent most of my time at Gar's. I helped unlock the gold car in Double Dash for them, and we played a bunch of Smash Bros. I still don't think I'm very good at that game, but it's definitely way more fun w/o Keston or Ody involved.
I think I'm going to Seattle again today or tomorrow or something. We have to have a "work party" which I think is a lot like just normal work. So that'll be "fun". I'll probably be missing from the internet though, so if you get to wondering, that's why.
Wow, I was only going to make a couple notes about my surprise at the level of activity one can encounter by aimlessly biking in the middle of the night. I guess I've missed the long ramble.
